project overview

For many weeks before this website redesign, Braised in the South (BITS for short) was renovating a restaurant space to include in their newest business expansion. The new website would launch in collaboration with the new opening, so time was of the essence. Design work involved primarily from web & graphic design, UI/UX, and building the internal site framework. I was even given creative freedom to do the copywriting on to start developing a voice for BITS.

requirements

  • Update the overall layout, expandability, and functionality of the previous dated site.
  • Further establish the BITS brand.
  • Hand over a site platform that has turn-key option for e-commerce & shipping, custom calendar functions for food truck locations, news article posting, and easy sharing of catering information.
  • Catering is an important revenue generator, so that page must be clear and easy to send a request.

solutions

I chose Wordpress as the primary CMS for the project due to its expandability, security, and overall search engine friendliness. The site itself is a fully customized template and fully responsive.

Working closely with brand standards, I was able to put another notch in the BITS brand belt. It is representative of the easy-going, sit-back-and-chill nature of the restaurant.

The BITS site was delivered on-time and to another happy, grateful client (that’s always a plus!).
